House Extension
Oxford
1998
The aim of the project was to open the house towards the rear, releasing the
constraints of the existing plan by making a new living space adjacent to
the garden. The extension, which is timber inside and out resembles' in its
fabrication, a large piece of furniture. It recalls the craft tradition. The
new arrangement transforms a typically cellular house to one that is open
plan.
